How We Work

The Luxury Assets Exchange... in which you don't "exchange."

Trade to Travel invented "non-reciprocal exchange" of luxury assets two decades ago. It works wonderfully because savvy members are delighted to host their fellow members, knowing that hosting one or more high season weeks each year gives them the freedom to enjoy thousands of properties worldwide at 90% SAVINGS.

Each time you host a member of TTT, you receive points which you can use at your convenience (points never expire). When traveling, you are never limited to selecting from the properties on our website because we partner with companies worldwide to arrange ideal accommodations for you. Simply let us know when and where you'd like to go!

Each point represents $1,000 US of rental value or rack rate (for the sake of consistency, monetary values expressed throughout this website are stated in terms of U.S. dollars). Members who host for major holiday weeks receive "double points."

Each time we arrange accommodations for members who host one or more high season weeks each year, our transaction fee is 10% of the rental value (or rack rate) of the accommodations (minimum transaction fee = $250). Please consider the transaction fee to be a tip for our services.

Serious Inquiries Only
Please understand that we can only work on "serious" requests. Please only ask us to arrange a property for you if you're fairly certain that you will reserve the property if we're able to fulfill the request. This policy is in the best interest of all members since it helps us provide our services as inexpensively as possible and doesn't waste members' time answering inquiries which aren't "serious." Thank you so much for your support and collaboration!

Earning Points
  1. Every property is assigned a "Point Value" (or range of Point Values) based on the rental rate(s) of the property. Because many TTT properties are not rental properties, point values may be determined using the rental rates of a "comparable property" in the same area.

  2. Each TTT point represents $1,000 of rental value. Since rental rates fluctuate seasonally, so do point values. To determine the point value of a property, simply divide the rental rate by $1,000. For example, if the rental rate is $5000, the point value is 5 points. If the rental rate is $7800, the point value is 7.8 points.

  3. Points are accrued in four ways:
    1. NEW MEMBER OPTION. Within the first 30 days of membership, new members are entitled to purchase up to THREE WEEKS of points at $250 per point. For example, if your property is 5 points per week during high season, you may purchase up to 15 points @ $250 per point. Since each point represents $1,000 of rental value, this is a great deal.
    2. HOSTING. Each time you host one of your fellow members, you receive points equal to the rental rate (or rack rate) of the accommodations provided. If you host for a major holiday, you receive DOUBLE points.
    3. HOST OPTION. If you'd like additional points, each time you host a member of TTT, you may purchase up to one week of points @ $250 per point.
    4. REFERRAL REWARDS. Each time you refer a new member to TTT, you receive "Referral Rewards Points" equal in value to the high season weekly rental rate of the property. Referring new members is a FAST and EASY way to accumulate points.

Frequently Asked Questions
  1. What if I want to visit a property for less than a week?
Many members are not interested in hosting for less than a week (with hotels being the exception since stays of a night or two often work well for hotels). If a host is willing to make a property available for stays of less than a week, TTT will pro-rate the number of points earned by the Host and the number points deducted from the Guest.

  3. How long will it take TTT to research properties and availabilities for me?
It will vary according to the destination(s) requested, the number of adults/children in your party, any special needs/wants, dates of travel, and other factors. Generally speaking, it will take 2-3 days and may take as long as 2 weeks or more.
