| This 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment with high ceilings and volumes of light is walking distance from about everything one comes to see in Charlestons historic district. Itself a piece of history, our building housed Miss Kellys Academy, where young ladies were versed in poetry and the histories of England, Greece, and France until 1896, the year the noted educationist left for Italy to study "the culture of silk."
There is a living room, dining room, and separate kitchen (modest, but well stocked with wine glasses, dishes, coffee grinder, garlic press, iron skillet, etc). Our second floor unit enjoys an elevator and assigned parking in the court.
Meander through the quaint streets to the battery, with its famous view across Charleston harbour to Ft. Sumpter. Or "do" King Street, Meeting Street, and Broad for shopping, museums, galleries, and restaurants.
Need more exercise? Go for a jog around Colonial lake, just around the corner, and ringed with more architecture that makes Charleston such a beautiful city. |
