| "SOPHISTICATED LIVING IN HIP CHELSEA LOFT" -- If you are looking for a safe area with West Side energy, Chelsea is the neighborhood for you. Centered between arguably the hippest areas of New York (the West Village, Union Square and the Flatiron District), Chelsea is one of the most sought after Manhattan areas, and a wonderful destination for stylish couples and families alike.
** THE NEIGHBORHOOD ** The restaurants, shops, art galleries, and trendy clubs are lively in Chelsea day and night. However, away from the action Chelsea is made up of many quiet tree-lined streets and repurposed spaces that have become airy and elegant homes. The Chelsea culture is known to be wonderfully diverse and also tends to attract an eclectic mix of professionals, artists, and lots of families who seek loft-like living spaces. Chelsea has also become the "new Soho", displacing it as the art gallery center of the city - there are several hundred galleries within a six block radius here!
** THE LOFT ** This three-bedroom duplex loft is luxuriously appointed in a style reminiscent of the W Hotel and has a marble cooks kitchen, wonderful CD collection and more. It has soaring 16-foot ceilings, is spacious and faces a courtyard so is very quiet, especially after a day out on the bustling streets of New York. It is a sophisticated and stylish home for a couple or family and those who enjoy a clutter-free style, especially those with allergies,(no pets and no smoking please). This is a quiet, residential loft not set up for entertaining and parties. We welcome families, though we're no longer set up for toddlers, and children under 5 will be considered on a case-by case basis.
** THE LAYOUT ** It is ideally set up for family living and the 3 bedrooms comfortably sleep five adults and one child. The master bedroom suite is on the first floor with dressing area, Jacuzzi tub and shower, the latter behind a second set of privacy doors. There is also a powder room on this level. Upstairs are two other spacious bedrooms with six-and-a-half-foot ceilings, one overlooking the living area with 20-foot custom curtains and the other behind a sliding set of French doors.
** AVAILABILITY ** This primary home is a warm and inviting space and is available just a few weeks a year plus long weekends, though all inquiries welcome! Please ask us for a digital photo gallery with 11 additional views of this home, scalable map and more info on the neighborhood including our favorite restaurants! Our home is also available to rent for lovely long weekends, select holidays and summertime - please ask.
ARRIVAL - is after 3 PM though it is ideal if you can drop your luggage off earlier so owner can greet you with the key and show you around. Departure is 9 AM, though we can usually store luggage a few hours to help connect with your flight times.
** GETTING AROUND **
Chelsea is one of the most accessible areas in New York. It’s a five to 10 minute walk to virtually every subway line in the city. This neighborhood sits at the entrance to downtown and is five minutes on foot from Greenwich Village and an easy walk to Soho, as well as Uptown locations like Times Square, Rockefeller Center and Midtown, all a 10-25 minute stroll away. Be like a New Yorker and walk everywhere, it’s wonderful!
