Plunge Landing has unobstructed views in every direction. Something you simply can not find anywhere else in Telluride. In fact, the views and the height of the structure make you feel as if you're alone in the mountains, even though the location is 200 yards from chairlift 8, the quickest way to the top. Plunge Landing was finished in November 1993 and boasts fantastic architecturally contemporary space that is both cozy and comfortable. Every attention has been paid to even the smallest detail. Radiant in-floor heat throughout every floor makes it incredibly inviting to walk around barefoot even when it's bitter cold outside. Even the bluestone hallway is warm to the touch. Automatic snow melt means the rooftop deck and entryways are always clear. No frozen footsies on the way to the hot tub. In addition to physical warmth, the natural warmth at Plunge Landing beckons you to relax and unwind. As original as a snowflake. As beautiful as anything. Architecturally, the space is world class. Already photographed for Global Architecture magazine, the residence is filled with maple ceilings, maple walls, maple floors and granite and stone. A huge fireplace fills the living room with a crackling glow, reminiscent of the ski lodges of the 30's. Soft quartz halogen lighting makes the inside sparkle at night and each light is regulated by silent lutron dimmers. Glass is everywhere. Soaring windows supported by 100 year old wood beams fill the "great" room with natural light and mountain views. Even the 20 foot skylight in the master bath allows you a mountain view while you brush your teeth. Gorgeous pieces of hand made cherry and oak furniture were designed and built by one man who spent an entire year working solely on this project. The furniture is reminiscent of the best of the craftsman period and you'll quickly appreciate the coziness and understated elegance the furnishings create. Small conveniences such as boot dryers, secure ski racks, cordless phones, dedicated fax line, automatic snow melt, intercom, private elevator with phone, well appointed kitchen, full sized washer and dryer, Jacuzzis, steam, and large rooftop hot tub make Plunge Landing like no place you've ever experienced.
